The EPOT Training for Trainers in Egypt brought together 32 non-formal education trainers and members of EFIL’s European Pool of Trainers for three days of learning and exchange. Trainers from the EFIL network, together with colleagues from ILCS Rabat, took part in the training hosted by AFS Egypt.
The programme introduced participants to the local volunteer journey and hosting system, and included sessions on theatre of the oppressed, stereotypes and prejudices, racism, xenophobia and islamophobia. Participants also reflected on how intersectionality can be applied when working with young people and training volunteers.
The learnings from the training will feed into the next Y-MED activities: the training for volunteers in Hungary in October, and the anticipated project results.
