In each edition of EFILife, we dedicate some space to partner news, including personnel changes as well as relevant events that have taken place over the past months.

 

From AFS France comes the news that the Board has decided to bring the collaboration with Myriam Verger as National Director to an end. The process for a new recruitment has started. In the meantime the Board is stepping in as interim and will continue to focus on strategic development. Furthermore, the Board will also be supervising the Finance, Marketing and HR departments directly and handling all relations with international partners that were handled by the director before.

Simon Papet simon.papet@afs.org, current Organisational Development Coordinator and former Sending Manager, will be acting as Chief Operations Officer. Simon will closely work together with Programmes and Organisational Development during this transition period.

AFS Sweden is announcing the following staff changes: Marcel Grüninger has left the organisation after 6 years in different positions. In addition, Jenny Eriksson is on parental leave until 31 December and Ebba Lindqvist has decided to move on to studies at the end of February. Frida Söderberg is on study leave until the end of June. The following new staff has been welcomed: Malin Kristiansson, Recruitment and Educations Manager;  Elin Bernhard, Communications and Volunteer Manager; Liv BolmgrenProgramme Coordinator (hosting and sending).

AFS Spain informs that Ana Soriano, Project and Training Coordinator, has left the organisation.

AFS Tunisia is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Programme Coordinator. Maryam Rafaoui has a Master degree in English for Communication from the Institut Supérieur des Langues in Tunis. Maryam has also been involved locally and internationally both as coordinator and volunteer with AIESEC, a university student exchange network. Maryam will be replacing Faten Ayari.

AFS Austria has created two news job profiles in the office. Stefanie Wind started working in the area Hosting Admission. She will be responsible for the reading of applications, for host family recruitment, for volunteer support and structure on the local level focusing on hosting, thus primarily supporting the Organisational Development Coordinator. The other position will be Hosting Support: Patrick Hamatschek, the current Programme Manager is covering this area and will soon get support. Hosting Support will work closely with host families, students and their liaisons, will be responsible for host family preparation and the national orientations in general.
