On 29 September the 9th edition of the Intercultural Dialogue Day (IDD) took place all around Europe. Volunteers really did a great job this year of promoting their entries in the contest. The winner of this year’s Video Contest, Budapest Chapter of AFS Hungary, had over 1500 ‘likes’ at midnight on 12 October when the contest ended. The winner of the Photo Contest was Rome Chapter of Intercultura (AFS Italy). All entries to the contest can be seen on the Intercultural Dialogue Day Facebook Page.
EFIL/AFS Intercultural Dialogue Day Quiz
EFIL held its annual Intercultural Dialogue Day Quiz on 13 October. The quiz was linked with the Life Long Learning Week and was a fundraiser to raise money for scholarships to the EFIL Volunteer Summer Summit in Iceland next summer. The scholarships will go to volunteers of small and new AFS organisations in the EFIL network. We look forward to supporting two volunteers with the funds raised that evening. The quiz gathered participants from all walks of life in Brussels: different European institutions, other youth NGOs, current and former AFS programme participants and volunteers and more. It was a fun and energetic night and we look forward to repeating the quiz next year again.
