May has been a very productive month for the European Institutions, which have released a series of legislations or proposals related  to the topics EFIL is engaged with:

– the revised key competences framework . Here you can read this EFIL document outlining how the new key competences framework is linked to intercultural competence.

– the Recommendation on promoting common values, inclusive education and European dimension in teaching

– the proposal for Council Recommendation on improving the teaching and learning of languages

– the proposal for the new EU Youth Strategy for the period 2019-2027, based on 3 principles: Engage, Connect, Empower.

We are satisfied to see how the values of citizenship, solidarity, appreciation of diversity and mobility and embedded in these documents and we hope that the EU member states and the EU institutions will implement policies accordingly.
