At the beginning of November 22 volunteers from 15 different Member Organisation participated in the EFIL Training for Trainers: Reach out to Enrich hosted in picturesque Greystones, Ireland.

The project, aimed at developing the training skills of volunteers within the EFIL network, was focused on the topic of social inclusion as the concluding event of the EFIL Year of Inclusion (2017 annual theme).

During the first two days the group focused on exploring this specific topic and participants had the chance to test their training skills by delivering Micro session on assigned topics. The second half of the programme was focused more on training design going from aim and objectives, to need assessment and into methods. Finally the participants had a chance to, in groups, design their own workshop from scratch and deliver it to an external audience, the students of 4 classes at Presentation Secondary School and 2 classes at Loreto Secondary Schools in Bray.

The event was possible thanks to a productive collaboration with our host EIL Intercultural Learning, which supported us from organising logistics to assisting the participants in the development of their workshop by providing input on the local audience. A big thank you goes to the member of the Prep Team who have been working on this project for 3 months and created a safe space for participants to learn about and experiment with training design on a very relevant topic.
