Registrations are open
The registrations for the 9th Edition of the EFIL Volunteer Summer Summit, to take place in Venice, Italy from 30 July to 4 August, is now open. To register, please sign in to MySummit at the VSS website www.efilsummersummit.org. The call for participants can be downloaded there.
The first deadline for registration is 15 March and the final deadline to register is 17 April. We recommend you to sign up as soon as possible to ensure a spot at the biggest AFS gathering in Europe this summer!
The team is complete!
We are happy to work with a diverse and highly motivated team for the organisation of this years’ VSS. The selection of prep team, support team and trainers’ team is now closed. There were many great applications for every team, and it is wonderful to see all the competences that volunteers in the network have! By following the VSS website and reading the next Herald, you will also get to know the people in the team better.
Preparatory meeting
The prep team met at the venue, San Servolo, an island in the Venetian lagoon, to draft the objectives and agenda. As a little taste, here is how the trainers coordinator Nic Coudret, describes his impressions of the meeting:
“Casanova silently accompanied us on the tour of the island; we fell in love with the terraces, sunlight, moonlight, calm waves, seagull sounds, warm temperatures and even the salty smell in the air. And last but not least, the food: antipasti, primi, secondi, insalate, and many more delightful bits and pieces.
Let’s not forget the most important: we laughed. With each other, about each other, about our past and future. Despite the hard work (or thanks to it), the smile is what stays of this first preparatory meeting. And we’re certain that the smile will remain when we see you all in August, in San Servolo, Venice, Italy.”
