EFIL is a volunteer based organisation, and so are its members. Volunteering is one of our fundamental values.
We have therefore taken part in the coalition which has implemented the activities for the 2011 European Year of Volunteering and contributed to the drafting of the Policy Agenda for Volunteering in Europe P.A.V.E. , and the European Charter on the rights and responsibilities of volunteers.
Following the announcement of the launch of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) in September 2016, EFIL is closely following the developments of the pilot action and legislation related to this new initiative of the European Commission in the field of volunteering.You can read EFIL input on ESC.
