Are you ready to empower the next generation of change-makers? Join me for an exciting workshop that focuses on democratic education and how to increase a passion for active citizenship in teens! Together, we’ll explore topics such as bridging the gap between formal and informal education, building trust with students as a guest speaker in formal schools, and designing engaging activities for large groups in smaller classroom settings. We will talk about what the keys to successfully engage younger students into your lesson are, and you will have a chance to come up with your own workshop proposal.

Have you ever wanted to share your knowledge of Active Citizenship outside of the AFS bubble, and bring it to your local schools? Are you intimidated by the idea of a class of 30 teenages staring at you while you ramble about the iceberg model? Worry no more! This workshop will give you the tools to tackle any classroom, and prepare you for facilitation in the wild world of schools. In the workshop, we’ll discuss the specific challenges and opportunities that schools offer for facilitators, and we’ll examine the difference between formal and non-formal learning. We’ll work together to brainstorm workshop ideas, and create plans that we can take home to our local networks. All experience levels are welcome!
