On 30 May the LLL Platform members met for the Annual General Assembly in the historical house of the Institut Français of Slovakia, in Bratislava.

The new website was launched, the workplan for 2016 was discussed, as well perspectives for the future. New members of the Steering Committee were elected: Gina Ebner (EAEA), Jean-Marie Dujardin (EUCEN), Brian Jurczik-Arnold (EEE-YFU) and Mare Ojo (EUROCLIO). The assembly also voted the inclusion of 3 new members: the Migration Policy Group (Sirius), theWorld Organisation of the Scouts Movement and the International Cités des Métiers Network. The Platform now counts a total of 40 members.

A special thanks to Joke Van der Leeuw from EUROCLIO who have served for a long time in the LLLP Board.

The LLLP Annual Conference took place on 31st May-1st July, with the support of the Slovak Presidency of the EU. The topic was ‘Imagining the Learning Community of Tomorrow’: keynote speeches inspired the audience and workshops on several aspects learning communities gathered ideas to guide actions. EFIL’s Advocacy coordinator, Elisa Briga, facilitated the workshop on ‘Diverse societies’ and presented the outcomes in Plenaries together with the other rapporteurs. The conceptual work of designing learning communities, was assisted by a team of architects who made a model out of the discussions.

The event was also the opportunity to say goodbye to LLLPlatform’s Director Audrey Frith who is leaving the Platform after 10years of commitment. EFIL warmly thanks Audrey for having brought the Platform where it is now, and welcomes the new director Brikena Xhomaqi who just started on 1st July.=
