There was a lot of learning on Advocacy taking place in these last months, first through the mandatory online course and then by attending the Academy organised by the European Youth Forum (YFJ).

All 5 new EPORies completed the online course and had fruitful discussions and exchange with the 4 Advocacy Liaisons who also attended.

There will be many more chances for learning and Exchange on the EFIL Advocacy Forum on World Café.

Some learning was also offered also by the European Youth Forum, whose Academy in Paris on 28 June-1st July involved three EPORies: Lukas Findeisen (AFS Germany), Eliud Neto (AFS France), Stefan Ubiparipovic (AFS Serbia).

Eliud participated in the workshop on Youth Policy Quality Standards, Stefan participated in three workshops -Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Youth Participation – Youth UP and Lobbying for Beginners – and Lukas  participated in four workshops – Sustainable Development Goals and Lobbying for beginners with Stefan,  plus Quality Assurance in Non Formal Education (NFE) and  internal communication.

It was interesting for the three EPORies to learn how other organisations are doing advocacy and engage in role plays where they had to put themselves in the shoes of policy makers and engage more young people in participation. In particular, it is clear that EFIL and AFS are doing many activities that contribute to the SDGs. The method for quality assurance in NFE has also been appreciated by our participants, though we know that there are also other methods to ensure quality.

Attendance to the YFJ Academy is highly recommended to new EPORies!!!

For the next Academy we wish for even more practical experiences and stories!
