I have spent the last 4 months living in Brussels, a big city with new challenges, while I have been working at the EFIL office, a place where I felt at home since the first day. Is it possible to find a better combination? Unfortunately time has passed so fast that while the Christmas atmosphere is filling every part of the city, for me it means starting to prepare my return to Italy, back to the old habits, but with new perspectives for my life.

During my experience I have had the opportunity of working in a multicultural environment with amazing people and I have learned something from all of them. Moreover I learned a lot about European institutions, intercultural communication and I had the possibility to work on a big project such as the ECTP Brussels camp (European Citizenship Trimester Programme). I’m glad I had the chance to be in the preparatory team of the ECTP, following every step of this big event from the beginning until the end. During the camp I met many motivated and energetic volunteers from all over Europe with whom I have shared an incredible week!
Even if my adventure at the office is almost over, I know that everything I have learned will help me a lot in my university studies, in my career and in my life. I gained awareness of what international work is and I discovered also something new about myself. I feel very motivated to come back home, ready to start a new chapter in my life as AFS volunteer and take all the new challenges that I will find on my way.

Last but not least, I’m thankful to all the people in the office with whom I have shared this amazing experience. Paul, Iza, Inga, Elisa, Frini and my fellow inters Marin and Paola, I have to thank all of you for many different reasons and I’m glad I had the possibility of meeting you. I look forward of seeing you again.
