AFS Argentina and Uruguay recently celebrated its 60th anniversary and on this occasion they hosted – in cooperation with AFS International – a Youth Forum. Around 50 young volunteers from all over the world gathered and combined their efforts in envisioning the future of AFS, looking at both the challenges we face as well as the opportunities. The five different tracks offered were leadership, diversity, personal development, recruitment and social impact – each dealing with a different aspect of the AFS reality. EFIL sent a representative to the Forum, Marín Björt Valtysdottir, who attended the sessions about social impact, linking it with EFIL’s strong connection to active citizenship.
