I. A European Pool of Trainers: what for?
The European Federation for Intercultural Learning, EFIL, organises 4-6 volunteer seminars a year. These seminars are, in general, one week long activities hosted by different organisations. They are organised by Preparatory teams of 5 (4 volunteer trainers and the EFIL training co-ordinator) who are in charge of the preparation, the implementation and evaluation of the training activities.
The Preparatory team members meet in general 4-6 months before the seminar during a week-end of preparation to design the programme and share responsibilities. The week-end before the seminar, the Prep team meets to finalise the details of the activity.
The selected trainers (please see profile further) will have to commit themselves to organise at least 1 seminar over a period of 2 years.
The trainers should also bear in mind that they may receive offers to act as Travelling Trainers and run short workshops on seldom occasions for Member organisations.
II. How it works
EFIL calls upon the members of the European Pool of Trainers to fill the positions of Prep team members for the EFIL training activities. In order not to interfere with national training events, the EFIL Secretariat informs the Partner Directors concerned every time a new training team is being put together out of the Pool of Trainers. Partner Directors may then simply confirm that the choice of the trainer or the schedule of the EFIL training does not adversely affect their own trainings.
